Personal Links

by admin last modified 2007-02-11 07:26

Links to my stuff mostly. Personal pages, essays, images and the like. Currently this points mostly to the static pages and duplicates much of the information in my old front page.

As Usual, in no particular order. Indeed, I'm half tempted to figure out how to rearrange them on each page load.

Bits and Bites of Eastern Washington University
EWU
Grammidity
A grammar based genetic programming system. This has a number of attached "experiments", for example using user input to generate midi files of (hopefully) increasing interest (not to say tunefulness). It also generates (see the next line here) "plants" that compete for sunlight. And a new part generates html files and serves them to browsers - this crashes most browsers eventually and when the browsers don't crash they often run for quite a long time rendering a page (one browser took over 19 hours to render a single page - and didn't crash!).
Grammidity Plants
Some plants the above mentioned program has constructed.
Just a Joke, Ma'am
Some April Fools RFCs
Respect the Hill!
A pamphlet warning truck drivers about Cabbage Hill in Eastern Oregon

A page I put together (mostly links) on study skills
Software
Random bits and fragments of programs I've written. No guarantee they work, no guarantee that they're good - indeed I look at some of these and cringe, but maybe someone will find them useful
Cheese - One Slice
"See the Merinos" - a brief (and very punny) excerpt from "The Worlds Largest Cheese" (out of print).
Cheese - Another Slice
Another excerpt from "The Worlds Largest Cheese" : To An Amphibian Landing Craft (a poem)
Teaching CS
More Thoughts on teaching CS
Concentration (kind of)
A bit of javascript/dynamic html I did once. I did have a more complete one where you turned over letters to expose the image, but can't seem to find it now.

The Wisdon of (Dick) Solomon

Semi Ottics
Yet another essay
Wan or War
The OLPC project seems to be trying to build the same kind of hardware I spoke of here.
Can't Keep a Good Man Down.

My Slashdot User Page
I'm not as active a Slashdot poster as I once was, but still seem to get mod points.
