To An Amphibious Landing Craft

Oh, amphibious landing craft thou art,
Come to me by water - any way
That can be found by thee within thy heart
At any hour of the night or day.
It would not matter if thou came by bay ;
I would not fret if river water brought
Thy greenish metal flanks close in the hay
To these lips which tasted love have nought,
The happiness thy signal lanp hath wrought,
When once I saw it shining on the sea,
Hath ever, always, burning in me, taught
The ways of wet-filled world of love to me.
So come by ocean, rivulet or swamp ;
And make my stricken heart go whomp whomp whomp.
